It’s a family meeting!
Frankie Muniz posted a photo behind the scenes during the filming of Disney +, bringing her parents to the Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek.
The three actors resume their respective roles of Malcolm, Hal and Laws in modern spin in the beloved sitcom. According to the line line of the renewal of four episodes, “Malcolm and his daughter are attracted to the chaos of the family when Hal and Laws demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary.”
Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield also resume their respective roles of Francis and Reese in the new series. However, Erik Per Sullivan does not come back like Dewey. Instead, “Fargo” and the actor of “The Expanse” Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will resume the role. (Sullivan largely gave up playing after “Malcolm in the middle” ended in 2006. His last actor credit was in 2010.)
Variety reported exclusively that Kiana Madeira will play in the role of Tristan, Malcolm’s girlfriend. The series will also feature Anthony Timpano (“Riverdale”, “Nancy Drew”), Vaughan Murrae (“Before changing your mind”, “The Way Home”) and Keeley Karsten (“The Fabelmans”, “Hunters”). Timpano will play Malcolm’s youngest brother, Jamie, while Murrae will play Malcolm’s younger brother, Kelly. Karsten will play Malcolm’s daughter, Leah.
Jamie was presented in the fourth season of “Malcolm in the Middle”, while Kelly is a new character whose presence was on in the final of the series when it was revealed that Hal and Laws were waiting for a sixth child. It is described as “self -sufficient” and “already wiser than most of the family”. Meanwhile, Leah would have “the same sarcastic humor, the same impulsiveness and the same frightening intelligence” as her father Malcolm, “but she is much more sensitive and emotional”.
