Frank Warren suggests Tyson Fury is in the best shape of his career as he arrives in Saudi Arabia for Oleksandr Usyk fight

Frank Warren is convinced that Tyson Fury is in the best possible position to beat Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury landed in Saudi Arabia this week ahead of his undisputed clash with Usyk on May 18, as he looks to make history and become the first undisputed world champion of the four-belt era.

The ‘Gypsy King’ has looked in remarkable form during his training camp, having made a significant transformation since his narrow victory over Francis Ngannou in October 2023.

And Warren, Fury’s promoter, thinks he’s in the shape of his life and ready to become a history-maker again.

He said during an interview on talkSPORT Fight Night: “He is in excellent shape, not only physically but mentally.

“I’m confident we’re going to get a vintage performance, I spoke to him during the week.

“He’s in really good shape, I think, and even though he had that cut, it went well because he had back-to-back camps.

“Physically, I’ve never seen him look so good. The worry was going straight to training camp, was that he would peak too early.

“He worked very hard to look his best on May 18.

“I just feel like he’s going to put in a great performance and stop Usyk.”

Footage has emerged of Fury landing in Riyadh, where he will make his final preparations for the showdown.

The WBC champion was not in his best condition to face Ngannou, and the former UFC champion even mocked him for it during a faceoff.

Fans worried about Tyson Fury as new training footage surfaces three weeks before his fight with Oleksandr Usyk

But there has been a significant overhaul to his training, even after missing his original February date with Usyk after suffering a cut in the fight.

Fury’s nutritionist Greg Marriott believes his diet and training have helped him become the best version of himself yet.

He told Mens Health: “I think he probably feels like everything is perfectly placed now.

“I think for this fight he just thought ‘I just want to look good again,’ and with that also comes feeling good and being able to go around.

“He is happier knowing that he is already in incredible shape now. He no longer needs to think about losing weight.

“We’ve done it before. I’ve already made him lose weight and to be honest, (the rescheduled fight) is a bit of a blessing in disguise.”
