The McLaren Lando Norris pilot exceeded free practice 2 for the Saudi Grand Prix of Formula 1, with the runner Red Bull Yuki Tsunoda causing a red flag with an avoidable accident.
With eight minutes to play, Tsunoda planted his RB21 in the exterior wall in the final corner, spelled a end of the session while the timed had checked, with only enough time for the usual beginnings of practice.
It was the only major incident of a second training session otherwise smooth during which McLaren reaffirmed his domination. Norris had outstripped the teammate of McLaren Oscar Piastri on the ferocious 6.1 km of street Jeddah, while the Briton aims to bounce back from a difficult weekend of Bahrain.

After having surprisingly given way first place in the first practice to Pierre Gasly, Norris and Piastri d’Alpine looked like nothing other than the two fastest cars of Jeddah, Norris leading the first means of his teammate, of only 0.001.
After 15 minutes, Charles Leclerc de Ferrari increased the bet with a 1m29.002 on the mediums, with Tsunoda and the soft type Liam Lawson also circulating in the top five.
While the frontrunners were going to the softs, the world champion Max Verstappen briefly caught the first place with a 1m28.547, but was quickly out of date by the 1m28,430 of Piastri.
Norris responded in kind by beating Piastri’s knees by 0.090 and then finishing his best effort at a 1m28,267 in the same set. The second Tyre -Tyre tour of Verstappen was better than its first but – 0.280 off Norris – still not enough to break McLaren hegemony at the front.
The Leclerc de Ferrari was fourth, four tenths drift, followed by Williams Man Carlos Sainz and the second Bull Red of Tsunoda, who was fourth tenth behind his illustrious teammate before his accident. Russell, Gasly, a Nico Hulkenberg and Alex Albon, surprisingly fast, finished the top 10.
As often on high -speed and blind twists and blinds on the street circuit of Jeddah Corniche, traffic was an important factor, with Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton de Ferrari summoned the commissioners for the allegedly hampered colleagues. Hamilton found himself in 13th after a discreet session.
Before Tsunoda was extinguished, Andrea Kimi Antonelli cut the wall out of the same corner, causing a quick garage call. Gabrial Bortoleto did not participate in FP2 after his Sauber team discovered a fuel leak that could not be repaired in time.
