And although the news is a devastating blow for the Celtics in this series and beyond, it will certainly give the Knicks a better chance of progressing after claiming a 3-1 lead in the best seven series.
Carton and Schlereth returned home for rather deaf fashion afterwards.

By confirming that Tatum had broken his Achilles and announced that he had undergone surgery, the Celtics did not provide a calendar for the return of the All-Star six times.
He had played a lot in what turned out to be a victory of 121-113 Knicks, marking 42 points and striking eight rebounds before being forced to leave the match.
The Knicks are now a match to return to the final of the Eastern Conference for the first time since 2000.
