Fox reporter corrects Trump to his face over unproven ‘Biden trial’ claim

A local political reporter in Milwaukee, site of this summer’s Republican National Committee, asked Donald Trump about his “Biden trial” talk after the former president pushed the false claim in an interview Wednesday.

Fox6’s Jason Calvi — who spoke with Trump during his stop in Waukesha, Wisconsin — noted that the former president was in court for the secret trial “just about every day” as he spoke about potential vice presidential candidates for 2024.

“So, wouldn’t it make sense to have this person there right now for you?” » » asked Calvi.

“Well, I’m in a fake trial and I’m in a Democratic trial. You know, look where that came from? This is coming from Biden. It’s a Biden trial,” said Trump, who repeatedly used the false claim to refer to the trial.

“I don’t think there’s any proof of that, that he’s involved in any of this,” Calvi responded.

The former president’s claim about the “Biden trial” does not fit the timeline of the Manhattan District Attorney’s investigation, which began in 2018 at a time when Biden was not a presidential candidate, noted Politifact.

Trump, in response, claimed there was “evidence” and suggested Calvi “take a look.”

“I mean, who is running the trial? Take a look at the person running it. There is a lot of evidence,” the former president said, without any proof.

He continued: “There is also common sense involved. There is plenty of evidence. And it’s shameful. What they are doing has never happened in the history of our country. So, I call this the Biden trial. And it’s a false deal and the voters understood that and that’s why I’m so far ahead.”

“And the jury will have their say, and you will also have your say in court,” Calvi responded.
