A group of people in a mini-dinner trapped in a flooded intersection of the Jolla was saved from rapid water by research and rescue officials Thursday evening in the middle of intense fires in a large part of the County of San Diego.
The street floods occurred while the National Weather Service has published a flood notice for the region. This opinion, issued around 8 p.m., could be extended until the 11th, said a forecastist.
The firefighters and rescuers received a report around 8 p.m. that four vehicles were overwhelmed at the intersection of the village of Jolla and Villa La Jolla Drives, officials of San Diego Fire-Rescue said.
The rescuers entered the water and withdrew the three occupants of the Mini-Pourgunnette before putting them in safety, officials said.
The firefighters said they had saved another person in another car and that the two remaining vehicles were empty when the firefighters responded.
The two roads were closed in the region at 9 p.m. due to the floods.
Just after 9 p.m., NWS meteorologist, Paul Steward, said the strongest rain fell into areas from Clairemont Mesa to Miramar, at almost half a-hour levels per hour.
“We could see an additional half-puck to a possible thumb,” he added.
