Here’s what happened during Spirit Airlines check-in at the Baltimore airport

According to TMZ, a video obtained by the outlet and posted on Friday, May 31 shows a man approaching an employee during a Spirit check-in. The outlet adds that it is unclear what exactly prompted the interaction. However, the customer seemed very unhappy.

As the footage continues, the man appears to confront the employee before three other people join the altercation. We then see fists flying and the three employees finally manage to tackle the man to the ground while kicking him.

The video ends with one employee holding the man to the ground while the others taunt him to get up. One of the employees even throws another punch at what appears to be the man’s head before walking away.

This is what will happen to employees

According to the outlet, the Maryland Transportation Authority responded to the incident which reportedly occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 28. The organization confirmed that five people were involved in the incident, while one “suffered minor injuries.”

Meanwhile, Spirit Airlines reportedly confirmed that the four employees were not directly employed by the company. They were apparently “employees of a third-party service” used by the airline. However, the men have now been “suspended by this company pending an investigation”.

“We do not tolerate any form of violence and will take appropriate action as necessary once the seller’s investigation is complete,” an airline spokesperson was quoted as saying, according to The Baltimore Banner.

The outlet adds that the Maryland Transportation Authority has not released information about what prompted the altercation or the identities of those involved.

However, The Baltimore Banner reports that authorities have provided “information on how to file criminal charges” to those involved.

A mother and daughter have already gone viral at the gate of Spirit Airlines

This isn’t the first time images have gone viral showing employees and customers throwing their hands at a Spirit Airlines office. As The Shade Room previously reported, in February 2023, a 17-year-old girl and her mother got frisky with employees.

Apparently, the women were told their carry-on bags were too heavy and they would have to pay extra fees.

From there, tensions rose and a passerby reportedly shouted for security.
