Friday evening, the Boston Red Sox lost their first basic player Triston Casas against a “significant knee injury” during the second round against the Minnesota twins.
The first base player only played 63 games last year and suffered an injury at the start of the season for the second consecutive season. Although Boston will have no more details on Saturday, it certainly seems that the Red Sox will be without Casas in the predictable future this season.
Boston has a special team which, despite early inconsistencies, is the creation of a competitor of the American League. Without Casas, the Red Sox must act quickly to find a production usable at the first goal in its absence.
If the Red Sox prefer an internal option, here are four options that can be taken into account.
Vaughn Grissom
Grissom lost the second base competition during Kristian Campbell during spring training. He returned to Triple-A Worcester and caught fire to start the season. Wordster even gave him four games to the first goal to better prove his versatility.

Grissom is currently with an average of the stick of .289 with three circuits, 12 products produced and one .825 Ops while working for his next opportunity for Red Sox.
Romy Gonzalez
Gonzalez started at the first base of this season against the left -handed launchers and practically clipping with Casas to start the 2025 campaign. Alex Cora has already inserted representatives for Gonzalez and will probably play the next few days while the Red Sox discover their supported plan.
Not Roman Anthony
The Red Sox have already declared that they would not try their best hope, a voltiseur, with the first goal with the chance to harm its development.
In the aftermath of the Casas injury, here is another reminder.

Rafael Dévers?
The Red Sox will not be used on the ground after his visit to the designated striker, so this option also seems unlikely. That said, position switches on the lower field are not a new concept, and it is interesting to see if Boston would consider the permanent as a short -term solution.
