Four Brewers prospects named to Baseball America’s top 100

Baseball America, one of the leading publications specializing in minor league coverage, released its 2025 Top 100 Prospects list earlier today. Four Brewers prospects were included, all ranked in the top 50:

SS Jesus Made – No. 17 (last year – unrated)
C Jefferson Quero – #43 (last year – 33)
RHP Jacob Misiorowski – #44 (last year – 32)
SS Cooper Pratt – No. 50 (last year – unranked)

Quero and Misiorowski are on the list for the second year in a row, while Made and Pratt are on the list for the first time. Below is an overview of each lead, in addition to a look at why each lead increased or decreased over the past year.

SS Jesus created (No. 17)

Made, 17, left the Dominican Republic in January 2024, only trying professional ball for the first time. Made spent the entire season in the Dominican Summer League, hitting .331 with an absurd .458 OBP. These numbers are especially encouraging given that the main obstacle against him as an amateur prospect was a lack of plate discipline. Made finished his run in the DSL rankings in the 95th percentile or better in contact rate and pursuit rate, an auspicious sign for his development. Made has everything he needs to one day become a star shortstop in the big leagues: above-average speed, a cannon for an arm, a plus glove and the ability to hit for power in all areas. His ceiling is incredibly high, which is why Baseball America ranks him 17th overall. If Made can maintain anything close to those contact stats as he progresses through the Brewers farm system, he’ll be ranked even higher by this time next year.

C Jefferson Quero (No. 43)

Quero’s inclusion is undoubtedly based on his remarkable 2023 with Double-A Biloxi. He won a minor league Gold Glove, ranking among the best defensive catchers in the minors by almost every metric while slashing .262/.339/.440 at the plate. Although he did a good job framing throws, Biloxi’s opponents were absolutely terrified of his arm. Quero has only allowed 1.03 stolen base attempts per game. His pop time (the time from when the ball hits the catcher’s glove to when the intended defensive player catches the ball) averaged about 1.9 seconds, which would have placed him in the top 10 in MLB last year. Quero was expected to make his major league debut for Milwaukee sometime in 2024.

Unfortunately, the baseball gods had other plans. After drawing a walk in his first appearance at Triple-A Nashville last season, Quero dove to first base to avoid a putout attempt. In the process, he dislocated his right arm, causing a torn labrum that caused him to miss the entire 2024 season. Since Quero’s injury was to his throwing arm and labrum injuries can take a while to fully recover, there was speculation that his arm would no longer be what it used to be – at least initially. The uncertainty surrounding his recovery (along with losing a full year of development time in rehab) is likely what caused him to fall in the rankings. However, if Quero proves to have found his form behind the plate, you can expect to see him in the majors in 2025.

RHP Jacob Misiorowski (No. 44)

Misiorowski, in terms of raw material, is everything you want in a pitcher. The 6’7″ right-hander has a fastball that tops out at around 102 mph, a dirty slider and a curveball that he developed into a favored pitch throughout his time in the minors. However, his rise in the Brewers farm system was held back slightly by control issues Misiorowski posted a BB/9 of 5.55 in Triple-A last year. As a reminder, the average BB/9 in the major leagues. last year was 3.1. Expect to see Misiorowski come out of the bullpen for the Brewers sometime later in the season – if he can figure out how to get to the strike zone when it counts. If he can post even league-average walk numbers, he has what it takes to become the Brewers’ next homegrown star pitcher.

SS Cooper Pratt (No. 50)

Pratt, 20, ranks as the Brewers’ second-best shortstop prospect because of Made’s rapid rise. He would be the best for many other clubs. Pratt essentially played one season in the minor leagues, playing in just 12 games in 2023 after the Brewers signed him out of high school in Mississippi and removed him from his commitment to Ole Miss. He was promoted twice in 2024, finishing the season. in the playoffs with Double-A Biloxi. Pratt slashed .277/.362.406 while winning a minor league Gold Glove. He already appears to be a major-level defender; if he continues to collect a full season of Double-A ball, he should earn a promotion to the Triple-A level by the end of the season. Again, like Made, he will be ranked above 50 next season if he continues to play at the level he is playing at.
