Former Slack CEO’s 16-Year-Old Child Mint Butterfield Reported Missing

Mint butter field was last seen on April 21 in Bolinas, California, a Marin County Sheriff’s Office deputy said in a statement posted to the department’s Nextdoor account on April 23. Police added that the teen was approximately 5’0″ tall and weighed 100 pounds, had curly reddish-brown hair and pierced eyebrows and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, flannel pajama pants and black boots.

“They may have had a gray suitcase with them,” the statement said. “Mint is believed to have headed to the San Francisco area after fleeing.”

The teen’s father, who stepped down as CEO of Slack in 2022 after the startup sold to Salesforce, and his mother Catherine Fauxthe ex-wife of the billionaire who co-founded the image hosting service Flickr with him in 2004, has not publicly commented on Mint, their only child.

Mint’s mother, who resides in San Francisco, reported the teen missing to police on April 22, a sergeant with the Marin County Sheriff’s Office told the Chronicle of San Franciscoadding that the child “would be in the net” of the city, an area they were known to frequent.
