ST. Paul, Minn. (Fox 9) – Former President Joe Biden was one of the hundreds of people to pay tribute to representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark on Friday. He also visited Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette.
Minnesota representative Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark and their Golden Retriever Gilbert were Lying in the state of the Capitol on Friday Before their funeral on Saturday. The Hortmans and their dog were fatally slaughtered almost two weeks ago, the Hoffmans were injured during the shots.
Hundreds of people, including the Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz, were at the Capitol on Friday to pay tribute to the Hortmans.

Former President Joe Biden visited the State Capitol on Friday and paid tribute to the Hortman is in the state, where the bodies of the minnesota representative, Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark and their Golden Retriever Gilbert Rest before a funeral Saturday.

Friday, Biden entered the Capitol around 4:20 p.m. he slowly headed for the memorial for the Hortmans, then stopped at the coffins for Melissa Hortman and Mark Hortman, as well as an urn for Gilbert. Biden made a sign of the cross, stopped for a little reflection and slowly moved away.
Going out, he embarked on a conversation with three women who were overcome by emotion.

Before paying tribute to the Hortmans to the Capitol of the State of Minnesota, Biden visited the Minnesota Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, in a Twin Cities hospital on Friday. John Hoffman is still in the hospital after being shot dead nine times, while his wife, Yvette, was hit eight times by gunshots. They were killed at their home in Champlin.
Yvette Hoffman shared a statement, as well as a photo featuring Biden on Friday.
“John’s state continues to improve. He is alert, he was walking and is able to eat. He also gives state soldiers keeping him sorrow,” said Yvette Hoffman.
