Former NFL player Korey Cunningham dead at 28

“This season of my life has been the hardest yet,” Korey wrote in a lengthy Instagram post in August 2022. “Learning to let go of the things that no longer serve me and learning to start caring for myself and the care I’ve shown to others. Learning to celebrate the little things in life and the little victories. Learning to love and forgive myself.

On Instagram, he describes himself as a “shy person”, but those who knew him, like as an ESPN reporter Jordan Raanansaid he was “optimistic” and a “fun guy”.

After news of Korey’s passing broke, many NFL players took to social media to send love to the late player and send support to his loved ones.

The Cincinnati football team shared its condolences Xwriting, “Korey was a @GoBearcatsFB captain with an incredible work ethic and infectious personality. He will be greatly missed and our hearts go out to his family, friends and teammates.”

Meanwhile, offensive lineman Justin Pugh— who played with Korey on the Cardinals — remembers inviting the late NFL star to dinners, even after he left the team.

“He was loved by all the guys, whether you knew him or not!” Justin wrote in an article about X. “Today is a sad day but I will always remember the good times and the laughter. Everyone who knew Korey Cunningham has become better. The world has lost a great soul.”
