Former Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic lashes out at Manchester City TV station during coverage of friendly against AC Milan
Zlatan Ibrahimovic couldn’t resist showing his cheeky side during an appearance on Man City’s TV channel.
The former Manchester United star was in attendance for Manchester City’s pre-season clash with AC Milan at Yankee Stadium in New York.
After three different stints at AC Milan, Ibrahimovic has since worked as a senior advisor to the Italian giants.
Clearly, part of his new role is to annoy Milan’s opponents – something he managed in chaotic fashion when invited to cover the match by Manchester City.
Joining host and former City star Shaun Wright-Phillips and Joleon Lescott, Ibrahimovic caused chaos by saying: “Bro, have you got any viewers here on Man City TV?”
Wright-Phillips then replied: “We’ve got plenty, we’ve got plenty” before the host said: “Say hello to our Man City TV viewers!”
Fans couldn’t believe Zlatan’s savagery, with one Manchester United fan exclaiming: “What a man!”
Another said: “Zlatan is in his 40s and he’s still cooking at City.”
But not everyone was impressed, with one supporter saying: “The whole stadium is full of City fans, Mr ZERO UCL is pissed, his team has no world support.”
Meanwhile, another fan said: “Zlatan: ‘How can I make this all about me?'”
Ibrahimovic’s comments were the least of Manchester City’s worries, however, as they lost 3-2 to AC Milan.
With many of the team’s stars still on holiday after Euro 2024 and the Copa America, Pep Guardiola has named a youthful squad with only Ederson, Rico Lewis, Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland among the senior stars taking part.
Haaland put the Premier League champions ahead, before Lorenzo Colombo’s double gave AC Milan the lead.
James McAtee levelled the score, before Marco Nasti wrapped up the victory for the Rossoneri.
Manchester City will face Barcelona and Chelsea in pre-season matches, before taking on Manchester United in the Community Shield on Saturday 10 August.
They will then begin their Premier League campaign away to Chelsea on Sunday 18 August.
