“I was not happy to sit for a season but I was ready to take a break. I did not know how long this break was going to last or how long I needed this break. With hindsight now, I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t have the break, “said Williams.

“I don’t even think I would train now, I think it would have just been with football). But being back now, being back, looking at football, it hurts me to watch football per minute, because I just want to be there, I just want to play, I miss being in a team, on the coach, I just think that it is too much for someone sometimes.
Williams revealed that various clubs in the United States, England and Europe had contacted earlier in the season to discuss his return, but the defender was not ready at this stage.
Opening on the role that the agents have played in his career so far, the 24 -year -old – who trains himself every day other than Sunday in order to develop fitness – said: “ I had a (an agent) for the first three months before doing my debut and I was not the person who wanted it.
“I never wanted an agent. I wanted this older brother who has a lot of experience, someone in the family I could really trust, but I never had that. I ended up getting an agent at 18 until I made my debut, then about six months later, I wanted to leave it and go with another agent.
“I was still on contract with this agent and he tried to continue me, so we had to go to court and travel all of this. It ended up being well anyway. And I’m with the same agent now since I made my debut.
Asked how many contacts he has with his agent when he pursues an itinerary in football, Williams admitted: “I’m going to be honest, I haven’t talked to him for a year now. Maybe 12 months.
Shocked, Foster asked if the agent comes into contact when Williams publicly said he wanted to return to the game.
Williams replied: “We will see. I’m going to have my conversation and see what this conversation is. But since August, I have had many teams that have been trying to get out. I just haven’t been ready.

Williams has not played a competition match since December 29, 2023. He was excluded from the Ipswich match team for the second half of last season when they obtained a promotion at the Premier League, then did not succeed in a new contract in United.

“I have the impression, in my head, I am very mentally strong. From where I was, where I am now, if you were traveling, you would see what massive difference there is, ”said Williams.
When he was asked who he had spoken during his difficult times, he replied: “Mick Farrell, in United, he was a psychologist there and I had known him since I was 15 years old.
“He had brought me coming all the time, when I did not leave my apartment and I stayed just in bed, he presented himself at nine o’clock, at my bedside which was trying to get me out. Things like “Let’s go for a walk” or “let’s have a coffee”.
“It was dark (fighting to get out of bed). It was difficult because many people care about it, but many people may care because they don’t want to lose the style of life they had or something like that. They would be like, “come on, we need you to come back”. I needed this break right to take everything and reset. Just to go ghost a little.
“No one knows what I do. I know what I do, I work hard, I come back in shape – and it’s just for me to do that and come back.

“At that time (shortly before his break with football), it was just too much for me. Problems with friends, friends that complain behind my back, stab myself in my back and stuff like that. It caused a great thing. I didn’t know my family, didn’t really tell them, they were really worried about me.
“My friends were as good to be fair, they could see him. It was not fair. Basically, I have this mode where I don’t care.
“I have this switch where I don’t care what’s going on, I don’t care what I do. They wanted me to return to football, but they could see that I fell in love with that. I just didn’t want to do it.
