Former “Jeopardy!” contestant Winston Nguyen has been arrested and charged with soliciting sexually explicit images from children.

According to a press release from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, the former math teacher at St. Ann’s School in Brooklyn, New York, was charged Thursday with use of a child for sexual performance, promotion of a sexual performance by a child, both sexually motivated felonies, and allegedly inciting or attempting to incite teenage students at four Brooklyn schools to send him images of nudity and sexual performances.

The 37-year-old, who appeared on two episodes of the game show in 2014, allegedly pretended to be a young teenager and a classmate during sexual conversations on Snapchat.

“A complex investigation by detectives in my office revealed extremely disturbing behavior by this defendant, who allegedly posed as a fellow student to lure teenagers into sending him sexually explicit images of themselves, which he then distributed,” U.S. Attorney Eric Gonzalez said in the statement. “The fact that he was a teacher and a trusted figure among students makes these allegations even more troubling. We will now seek to hold him accountable and continue to work diligently to protect children from sexual exploitation.”

Kenyatte Reid, the principal of Saint Ann’s School, told the New York Times that Nguyen’s behavior was “deplorable and a profound violation of the trust we have in him as a member of our community.”
