Former high -level teacher sentenced to students’ sexual abuse

A former professor of the year of the County of San Diego who pleaded guilty of having sexually abused two of his sixth year students was sentenced on Friday to 30 years behind bars.

The penalty was part of the agreement that Jacqueline MA, 36 was hit guilty on February 5 to two forced obscene chiefs with a child under the age of 14 and also admitting an obscene act with a child under the age of 14. The two children had been Lincoln Acres Elementary School students, where my teacher was.

It also pleaded guilty to a chief of possession of equipment containing a minor engaged or simulating sexual conduct.

The district prosecutor’s office said that she had prepared boys with “gifts, food and special attention and even finished their homework for them”.

Before pronouncing the penalty, the judge of the Superior Court of Chula Vista, Enrique Camarena, said that I had cultivated sex on a prolonged period, but that it was protected against interview because of his status as a award -winning professor.

“It is not only a day accident, an error, a bad judgment or a bad act,” said Camarena. “(The conviction) encompasses punishment for a prolonged diagram of sexual abuse on children.”

Before reading his sentence, MA was authorized to address the public and his family, which filled a row of seats in the gallery. With her hands in wrists, the former teacher apologized to the victims and their families, and said that she had “dishonored the teaching profession”.

“I abused my authority, I exercised my power and my control over them, and I deceived them,” said MA through tears. “The boys this age should play outside, feel careless … I torn off their childhood.”

It was then called her selfish crimes, said that she manipulated the two boys and their families, and that her actions would be traumatized for the victims and her community for the years to come.

“I lied on their faces while secretly abusing their sons,” said my. “I just pray for additional protection and force for all those (assigned).”

Deputy prosecutor Drew Hart said after the hearing that, although my responsibility and expressed remorse in the courtroom, he considered that the conviction was appropriate.

Hart said that the mother of the 12 -year -old victim had no statement for my. The mother of the 11 -year -old victim ordered the prosecutor to tell my that she had trusted the former teacher and that she had been left speechless by her crimes.

“These parents knew Mrs. Ma. They knew who she was, and they trusted her,” said Hart. “And therefore to discover not only that their child was mistreated, but to discover that they were mistreated by someone in whom they trust with their children and to take care of their children, was incredibly devastating.”

In addition to paying thousands of dollars in fines and registering as a sex offender, my will have to serve the 30 years of his sentence before a parole commission allowed him, said Hart.

MA had taught the fifth and sixth year of the national school district since 2013. In August 2022, she was one of the five teachers in the region selected as a teacher of the County of San Diego.

She was arrested seven months later. In March 2023, the parent of a 12 -year -old boy contacted the national city police to report an alleged inappropriate relationship with their son.

The prosecutors said that I used discussion rooms on video games and a family tablet to communicate with the 12 -year -old child. Hart said the physical relationship between the two started at the end of 2022, a few months before the messages were found by the boy’s parents.

The boy’s parents would not have allowed him to have social media or his own electronics. But the investigators learned that I was able to access him by creating a program after unauthorized school and speaking to him with him via a school cat application.

Sexual assaults took place in my class for three months while the boy’s parents thought he was registered with a basketball program after school, prosecutors said.

The investigation into MA revealed a second suspected victim – a boy who was 11 years old when the prosecutors said that she had sent him sexually charged messages in 2020, according to a testimony of his preliminary hearing.

The 11 -year -old was approached by my in 2020, but he fled the play, said Hart.
