Former Cowboys offensive line player Tom Flefety died Thursday In Windsor, Colorado, after a blow, Kevin Sherrington of Dallas Morning News Reports. Firfety was 70 years old.
Firoferty’s daughter Rachel Powers told Sherrington that her father had been hospitalized since early May.
The Cowboys drafted firmed in the fourth round in 1976, and he spent his entire 14 -year -old career in Dallas. He played with Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman.
Firferty took over for Blaine Nye at Right Guard in his second season and started there for four seasons before moving to the center. He played in two Super Bowls and started 167 consecutive games, the longest sequence in the history of the franchise at the time.
Mark Stepnoski replaced Fleerty in the middle of the 1989 season, and Flatty retired after the season. Fleerty appeared in 203 games from 182.
