A former aide to Melania Trump gave a speech on Sunday Donald TrumpThis is Paul’s mindset when it comes to his wife.
“He fears her, I would say,” Stephanie Grisham told MSNBC’s Alex Witt.
Grisham’s assessment came before Monday’s start of Trump’s criminal trial on hush money charges. The former president allegedly paid porn actor Stormy Daniels and Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal during the 2016 election to keep quiet about alleged sexual relationships.
When news of the allegations broke, Grisham recalled how “internally, people in the West Wing were nervous about what we were going to do in the East Wing.”
Grisham served as chief of staff and press secretary to Melania Trump. She then became Trump’s White House press secretary and then communications director.
“I remember one time the former president called me from Air Force One to see how angry she was and to see if we were making any statements because we had never checked with the “The West Wing was constantly contacting me.”
Grisham “never shared with them (Melania Trump) her thoughts on this because these were sort of private, personal conversations between the two of us,” she added. “When I said we weren’t going to the State of the Union or she would just meet him on Air Force One, I stopped there and they all knew in the West Wing that he wouldn’t “We shouldn’t push further or ask him to do more than that.”
