“For me, it’s always funny … it’s always stupid”: Bill Murray talks about allegation of sexual misconduct | Bill Murray

Bill Murray said he felt that he was “barbecue” by an allegation of sexual misconduct on the set of a 2022 comedy, which led the film to the cancellation and his financial arrival with the woman who accused her of riding her and kissing her.

“It was not as if I had touched it,” Murray told New York Times in a new interview. “I gave him a kiss through a mask. And she was not a stranger. “

Murray defended his actions in the newspaper, saying that the complainant was “someone I worked with, with whom I had lunch on the days of the week”. The actor put his actions to try to be fun in a tense and claustrophobic setting.

“We were all blocked in this single play while listening to this crazy scene,” he said. “I don’t know what prompted me to do it.” The action was the one he had already carried out on someone else, he said.

“I thought it was funny, and every time it happened, that was Funny, ”continued Murray.

He continued: “It was a big disappointment, because I thought I knew someone, and I did not do it. I certainly thought it was light. I thought it was funny. For me, it is always funny, the idea that you could give someone to someone with a mask. It’s always stupid. That’s it.”

The production was suspended to be fatal, led by Aziz Ansari, after the crew member filed a complaint against Murray and was finally completely closed.

The film was supported by Searchlight films, the production company now owned by Disney, which Murray said he felt the incident inappropriately.

“It always bothers me because this film was arrested by human rights or” H&R “of the Disney Corporation,” he said. “It turned out that there were pre -existing conditions and all this kind of thing. I’m like, what? How was someone supposed to know something like that? There was no conversation, there was nothing. There was no creation of peace, nothing. ”

Once the production is suspended, Murray said that they “went to this crazy arbitration”, while recommending that “if someone suggests you to go to arbitration: don’t. Never do it. Because you think it’s justice, and that is not the case. “

Shortly after the complaint, Murray said he hoped that the incident could be resolved quickly. “We are talking about and trying to make peace with each other,” he said, something he seemed to refer to the Word at the New York Times.

“I tried to make peace,” he said. “I thought I was trying to make peace. I ended up being, in my opinion, toasted.

“I don’t spend too many days or weeks without thinking about what happened while being fatal.”

Murray, 74, remains one of the most emblematic comedians in the United States for his roles on Ghostbusters, Saturday Night Live and many Wes Anderson films.

A certain number of directors and co-stars such as Geena Davis, Lucy Liu, Richard Dreyfuss and Harold Ramis said they had not found Murray easy to work, but there remains a very appreciated star, with observations of him in the often viral nature.

In 2014, Harvey Weinstein, then produced one of Murray’s films, compared the phenomenon to faith. “It’s a religion,” he told Variety, “where you can act as bad as you want people, and they always love you. I felt guilty to behave badly, and I met Bill, and that’s so much better. ”

Murray told the New York Times on Saturday that it had taken him for many years to reconcile his status like the most precious celebrity observations of many people.

“I walked in the street with a hat above my head, glasses on my eyes. I loved Covid,” he said, saying that he put “so much energy” in the navigation of photos of foreigners.

“What screw head,” he said. “So now, what I do in life is, I take pictures of mobile phone. I’m not an actor. I’m a donkey who is photographed with people who don’t know how to use their own mobile phone camera. … I don’t regret it. I can’t feel it.”
