An Scottish footballer, 35, was tragically deceased after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Brian Morgan, last week, was transported urgently to hospital following the incident, but unfortunately died on Wednesday despite the best efforts of the medical staff.
Morgan was a midfielder for Juniors Sauchie and initially hung up her boots last year, but came out of his retirement shortly after to help the team this season.
The club has since published an emotional message in tribute to Morgan: “Sauchie Juniors has been saddened to learn the death of midfielder Brian Morgan, at the age of 35.
“Brian died on Wednesday morning after being admitted to the hospital after a cardiac arrest. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his wife Zoe and his daughter Poppy, as well as his nearby family, his friends and all those who knew him.
“ Being a local boy in Sauchie, the affiliation of Brian with the club started when he looked at the team as a young person before signing for the club in 2010 as a young 20 year old under the former manager and his brother-in-law, Fraser Duncan.

“ He contributed to a good part of the success and the lifting of the Argentie club, in particular by marking two free kicks to promote East Superleague in 2012. After a first period of eight and a half years at the club, he went to a new challenge at Bo’ness United.
“A notable moment in Brian’s second spell came to the final of the East League Cup of Scotland against Haddington Athletic. This particular game was to be his last match for the club, announcing that he would retire after the conclusion of the match.
“By trying to sign in style, he would mark the winner in more time with a head jumping to ensure victory. Brian would take place in the stand for the start of the 2024/25 season, but itch of playing would become too much.
“And he removed the boots last November. It did not take long before reaffirming yourself as regular in the starting and goals. His last match for the club would arrive on April 12 in a 3-2 home victory against Glenrothes, scoring our first goal to help us go to three points. Rest in peace, Morgy. One of ours ”.
The club confirmed that they were not sure of the exact figures – appearances and goals – behind the three relays of Morgan east of Scotland.
Tributes for Morgan began to flood both on X and Facebook, while the former teammates and the fans shared their memories of the 35 -year -old man.
One of his teammates, Chris Donelly, shared a photo alongside Morgan and wrote: “ It was followed during training on Tuesday evening, we both scored the weekend and in the usual morgy style that he was trying to say that his goal was better of our victory, an absolutely incredible and even better player in the park, the boy was a legend, devastated and his family.
Other clubs across the country have also shared tributes to Morgan. The Ligue two on the Stirling Albion side said: “Everyone at Stirling Albion sends our biggest condolences to everyone to Sauchie with Brian’s family and friends.
Meanwhile, Dunbar United wrote: “Absolutely tearing to read this, all of our thoughts go to the family and friends of Brian and everyone in Sauchie. Rip Brian.
