Food charity says seven of its workers killed in Israeli airstrike

Several employees of the nonprofit World Central Kitchen were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza overnight, the organization’s founder José Andrés wrote on the social networking site X.

“Today, @WCKitchen lost many of our sisters and brothers in an IDF airstrike in Gaza. I am heartbroken and crying for their families and friends and our entire WCK family… The Israeli government must put an end to these indiscriminate killings,” Andres wrote. .

The Israeli military said in a statement Tuesday, cited by the New York Times, that it was “conducting a thorough review at the highest levels to understand the circumstances of this tragic incident.”
