Foo fighters separated from Josh Freese, said the drummer on social networks today. “The Foo Fighters called me on Monday evening to let me know that they decided” to go in a different direction with their drummer, “wrote Freeese. “No reason has been given.” He continued: “I appreciated the last two years with them, on stage and out of stage, and I support everything they deem best for the group.” See his full declaration below.
Freese officially joined Foo Fighters in 2023, succeeding the late Taylor Hawkins. His latest show with the group was a private business at House of Blues Anaheim last September.
We do not currently know who will break for FOO fighters in the future. For the moment, their only scheduled performance is at the Grand Prix de Singapore on October 4. When reached by Pitchfork, a representative of Foo Fighters had no comments.
Josh Freese:
The Foo Fighters called me on Monday evening to let me know that they decided “to go in a different direction with their drummer”. No reason has been given. : (Anyway, I appreciated the last two years with them, on stage and out of stage, and I support everything they think is best for the group. During my 40 years of battery professionally, I have never been released from a group, so even if I am not angry – just a little shocked and disappointed. But as most of you know that I have always worked independent.
