The network launches the book on “Suits la”.
The spin-off “follows” was canceled after a season on NBC. The legal drama of 13 episodes was broadcast for the first time in February, with Stephen Amell, Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt and Bryan Greenberg.
Until now, the show has broadcast 11 episodes with the landing of the final of the season on May 18.
Many original players from “Suits” – broadcast on the American network for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019 – returned to the show for Les Petits Cames, including Rick Hoffman, Gabriel Macht and David Costabile.
The spin-off followed a law firm in Los Angeles, unlike the first series, which saw the employees work for Harvey Specter, one of the best lawyers in New York.
“Ted Black (Amell), a former New York Federal Prosecutor, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful customers in Los Angeles,” said the official synopsis of the show. “His business is at a crisis point, and to survive, he must adopt a role he occupied in the contempt of his entire career.
“Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalty to Ted and each other when they cannot help mixing their personal and professional life. All this happens while we slowly dispense the events that led Ted to everything he loved.”
In January, the creator of “Suits” Aaron Korsh responded to the concerns of fans that a spin-off would ruin the original show.
“Do not try to replace our beloved originals,” he wrote on X at the time. “Just a new team working in a different city that manages different types of cases.”
“It seems that people all want the originals,” said Krosh, 58, in a follow -up article. “I expected that and I can’t blame them. I can only hope that they give #suitsla an open -minded essay. If they do, I really think they will grow up to love him. ”
With Macht, 53 years old, and Hoffman, 54, the OG project with Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Froofty, Gina Torres and Meghan Markle.
The Duchess of Sussex left the show in 2018 after she got engaged to Prince Harry.
The original series has earned a new life after being placed on Netflix in 2023, and a spin-off was announced shortly after.
After the trailer dropped at the end of January, Korsh again assured fans that the casting of the spin-off “is great”.
“I think that if people look at him and give him a chance, they will love him,” wrote the Creator on X.
“All I can say is that if people look at, they will quickly see that it has overlap, but it’s 100% his own thing. If you liked the original and you give a fair blow, I find it hard to believe that you will not come to love it.”
Once the show fell, however, the public had mixed criticism.
A person wrote on X: “Is it the pilot episode or episode 3? We have the impression of having thrown all these characters without any introduction and that we expect us to understand their current scenarios in which they are involved. I try so much to love this, but it gives a hasty production.”
Another user shared: “Coming from the fan # 1 suits on the planet – follows is disgusting. Perhaps the worst actor and script on television. A third party observed that “is suitable for the taking place in hell” while adding a gif of “rhony”, while someone else wrote: “#suitsla is a flop. Bad writing. Made -minded characters and a plot that do not contain the original Jockstrap #suits. #Try again.”
But not everyone wanted to hold the new show in contempt.
“I’m going to be reasonable about combinations: the. I will not whine and complain like everyone is the lack of original characters. When the original show started, I would bet that people certainly did not know or do not care about characters first,” said a fan on the social media platform.
“Probably the only one on Twitter really appreciating the costumes La Lol #Suitsla”, wrote a second happy viewer, while another added: “Follows is the bomb. Same sense of the issues of the original but a brand new arena and areas of expertise but always very intense.”
The distribution and the creator have not yet discussed the cancellation.
In January, Macht explained why he chose to resume his role in three episodes of “Suits la”.
“I do it right for fans. I don’t do it for myself. I did it 134 times,” the actor told people.
In fact, Korsh called Macht to offer him the chance to return to the “Suits” universe.
“Aaron called me and he just said,” Listen, it’s a different world. It is in Los Angeles. It’s not New York, but the character of Ted, that Stephen Amell plays, he came out of New York, “said Macht.” And (Harvey) knew him when you were in New York. And if there is a world where you might be interested in coming back, let me know. Because I have this idea that could be really great. “
