Talk about going off the deep end.
A Florida woman who was caught red-handed on a Naples public pier dove into the water to try to escape cops Monday afternoon, authorities said.
The escape didn’t do 20-year-old Allyssia Razo much good, however: She was picked up by the beach patrol as soon as she reached shore, according to a police report.
Naples police received multiple reports of a man and woman having sex behind the locked gate of the historic pier around 4:30 p.m. during the busy Memorial Day holiday.
Razo and Zadok Westfield, 23, were still there when officers arrived.
As the two rushed to put on their clothes, Razo moved to the edge of the pier and jumped in – despite officers’ orders to stay where she was.
Westfield, who was completely naked when police arrived, remained at the scene.
He told the officer that he and Razo swam to the end of the pier and intended to jump, but ended up having sex.
A witness told police she was enjoying a day at the beach near the pier with her four children, ages 7 to 15, when they noticed Razo and Westfield naked in a public place.
She told police her “minor children were asking questions about what the subjects were doing.”
Razo and Westfield were each charged with trespassing and disturbing the peace.
Razo was also charged with resisting arrest without violence.
Both were taken into custody and released on bail the same day.
The iconic pier, which juts about 1,000 feet into the Gulf of Mexico, has only partially opened to visitors since it was severely damaged by Hurricane Ian in 2022.
