Durham, NC – Cooper Flagg scored 27 points and No. 3 Duke extended his home victories sequence at 14 games with a 78-57 victory against CAL on Wednesday evening.
Tyrese Proctor scored 18 points and Khaman Maluach added 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Blue Devils (21-3, 13-1 Conference of the Atlantic Coast), which rebounded on Saturday’s defeat against Clemson which broke a sequence of 16 consecutive victories.
Jeremiah Wilkinson scored 21 points, Rytis Petraitis added 11 points and Andrej Stojakovic 10 points for the Golden Bears (12-13, 5-9).
Flagg fired 8 for 14 on the field and was perfect on nine free throws for Duke, who led 19-9 under 9 and a half in the match. Flagg scored 13 points in the first half, helping the Blue Devils in an advance of 38-23 at the break.
Take -out
California: The Golden Bears have lost four of their last five games. They were in danger of a total of seasonal points until scoring 15 points in more than five minutes at the end of the match.
Duke: The Blue Devils of the ACC have had fun again while extending their undefeated sequence. Flagg converted an inverted dunk of escaping halfway through the second half, striking a rare smile on the field thereafter.
Key
The consecutive possessions with 3 points of 7 feet 2 inches Maluach and Flagg pushed Duke to an advance of 28-15. The margin has never dropped the rest of the path to a figure. It was just the second 3 -point basket in Maluach and Beyond Arc’s eighth attempt this season.
Key statistics
California pulled 35.1% on the field, below the 38.5% ACC-LOW that Duke allowed opponents to enter the match.
The next
The two teams play on Saturday. Duke is at home against Stanford, and Cal is in Georgia Tech.
