Five people were injured outside a bar in Detroit after a disagreement over a parking space, police said.
Detroit Police Department Deputy Police Chief Charles Fitzgerald said at a news conference that the fight broke out around 2:45 a.m. Friday at the Chicago Blu’z Bar & Grill.
“Insane, ridiculous,” Fitzgerald said. “Five people shot in a parking space is just stupid to me.”
Police said the fight over the parking space quickly turned violent after a man pulled out a gun and began shooting into the crowd.

Only one of the five victims was involved in the argument, while the others were bystanders, police said.
The suspect was still at large as of Friday evening.
He left the scene in a dark-colored SUV.

Fitzgerald said they are investigating why the bar was open at 2:45 a.m., noting it should have been closed.
“Clearly, that blues club shouldn’t have been open at 2:45 in the morning when they’re still fighting over a parking space,” Fitzgerald said.
