Five dead and many injured in a shooting in a gay club in the United States – RT in French

Colorado Springs police reported multiple deaths and injuries in a shooting that broke out at a gay club. This drama comes on the occasion of the “Trans Day of Remembrance”, which commemorates the victims of transphobic attacks.
Five people were killed and 18 injured in a shooting that occurred on November 20 in a gay bar in the town of Colorado Springs, in the United States, according to a report given by the local police.
The suspect was hospitalized and taken into custody. No information was immediately communicated by the authorities as to his motives.
The shooting took place at Club Q, an LGBTQ establishment, which posted a short statement on Facebook, thanking the “heroic customers who subdued the shooter and put an end to this hateful attack”. The police, who did not immediately specify the circumstances of the arrest of the author of the shooting, quickly cordoned off the area.

This attack coincides with Trans Day of Remembrance (“Transgender Day of Remembrance), which takes place every year to commemorate trans people who have been murdered for transphobic reasons.
In a sad example of this type of attack, in June 2016, an individual opened fire in a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, killing 49 people.
