First look at Disney’s science fiction suite

“Tron” is back, more than 40 years after the original science fiction film has proven itself.

Disney published the first trailer for “Tron: Ares”, the third film in the franchise “Tron” after the original 1982 and the suite 2010 “Tron: Legacy”.

Jared Leto runs the film, which includes the original star Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn. Leto plays Ares, one of the programs in the digital universe that is responsible for entering the real world. The cast also includes Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro and Gillian Anderson. In particular, Peters plays Julian Dillinger, who shares a surname with Edillinger by David Warner, the villain of the first film.

The trailer gives us a first overview of the confrontation of our reality with the Game World of Tron. Opening with a high -speed pursuit between the police and certain thugs programs, the cop cars are not up to a light cycle, and one is in clean slices in two once the emblematic light wall of the bicycle is activated. Although Kevin Flynn de Bridges is never seen, his voice can be heard at the end of the trailer. While the Ares de Leto are returned to existence, Flynn said to him: “Ready?” Because there is no return. ”

“It is really incredible to think that we did the original in 1982,” said Bridges on stage when “Tron: Ares” was unveiled during the D23 2024 Expo. “It is incredible – we never thought we would have this heritage which was continuing during all these years.”

It was also revealed to D23 that Nine Inch Nails, the Industrial Rock and Electronica Band founded by Trent Reznor and joined in 2016 by the frequent employee Atticus Ross, marks the film. Reznor and Ross won the Oscars for their scores for “The Social Network” of 2010 and “Soul” from the 2020s. They also won grammys for their soundtracks at “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and “Soul”. More recently, they marked the successful tennis film by Luca Guadagnino “Challengers”.
