WASHINGTON — A popular facial moisturizer sold by First Aid Beauty has been recalled nationwide after some jars of the cosmetic cream that were not intended for sale were unintentionally distributed.
The FDA has classified the recall as Class II, its second highest risk classification. No details were immediately available, but the FDA report said there was a deviation from current good manufacturing practice regulations and said the recalled jars were “intended for quarantine.” .
The voluntary recall specifically affects 14 oz jars of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. According to health authorities, 2,756 unfit pots were inadvertently sent to stores.
The affected jars have lot numbers 24D44 and 24D45, with expiration dates between 04/10/2026 and 04/11/2026.
The recall was first reported by Newsweek.
The recall was issued on Dec. 24, 2024, but came to light a month later when the FDA on Tuesday assigned it a Class II risk classification, which describes “a situation in which use or exposure to a product infringing may result in temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, or where the likelihood of serious adverse health consequences is low.”
First Aid Beauty is also in the middle of a campaign to raise money for California wildfire relief funds. A 6-ounce jar of Ultra Repair Cream, with unique branding on the outside, is sold on the company’s website for $38, with 50 percent of the proceeds going to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
These 6 oz jars are not included in the recall.
The popular cream is sold in stores including Sephora and has become a viral hit on social media platform TikTok. Users have praised First Aid Beauty products for soothing skin concerns when other products don’t.
Anyone who has purchased First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream should check its batch number and expiry date, and contact the company by email if they have an affected jar.
