MADISON (WKOW) – Reports from the International Meteorological Organization show that a fireball streaked across the night sky on Thursday, July 11.
Tagged Event 3418-2024, witness reports came in from Tomah, Spring Green, McFarland and Baraboo, all between 11:02 p.m. and 11:10 p.m.

Clear skies Thursday night allowed easy visibility of the fireball in northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota.
According to one witness, the fireball was “bright and green with a substantial tail about 4 times the length of the sphere.”
