After The Rock appeared on the first episode of Raw on Netflix, it was announced he would also be making his first ever appearance on NXT television this week. But whatever could he be doing there?
His first order of business was bumping into Ethan Page backstage and then a brief conversation with his daughter, General Manager Ava:
He claimed he had no idea what he was going to say once he made it out in front of the fans.
Once he made it there, he brought up folks getting upset about him drinking and hanging out with Cody Rhodes like they’re friends. He called himself The Final Boss repeatedly while saying he’s always thinking 20 steps ahead, and we should all just know our roles and shut our mouths.
That was the most substance we got.
From there, it was more of the same from Raw, just thanking the fans for being there. In this case, he gave them as much credit as possible for being such a large part of the show with the scale they have. The role they play is important, he said, because they can help decide future stars in this industry.
If you smell what he’s cooking.
And that was that.
There wasn’t much meat on the bone here but, hey, it was The Rock in NXT. What more could you ask for?
