The most ingenious death traps of horror returned to the big screen while “Final Destination Bloodlines” opens in theaters this weekend.
The Warner Bros. And New Line Horror, side R, made $ 5.5 million in preview Thursday at the box office. The film is expected to earn between 35 and $ 45 million at its beginnings, which would be the highest weekend to open the franchise of all time. It is on the right track to add $ 35 million internationally for a world start from $ 70 to 80 million dollars. Cost of around $ 50 million to produce, the film should be another good bloody return to Warner Bros. After having had a huge success with “Sinners” and “A Minecraft Movie” last month.
“The Final Destination”, the fourth entry published in 2009, is currently holding the franchise record for a highest opening with $ 28.3 million, followed by “Final Destination 3” with $ 19.1 million and “Final Destination 5” with $ 18.4 million.
“Bloodlines”, the sixth entry of “final destination”, is expected to beat Marvel’s “Thunderbolts”, which has been the box office champion in the past two weeks. The MCU film is expected to add $ 15 million to $ 18 million during its third week. So far, it has brought in $ 127.7 million to the country and $ 271 million worldwide against a production budget of $ 180 million.
The first film in “final destination” in 14 years, “Bloodlines” follows a student whose family is chosen one by one – in a horribly intelligent way, of course – after his grandmother escaped death years ago. The cast includes Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt. Tony Todd, Gabrielle Rose and more.
The opening of this weekend is also “Hurch Up Tomorrow”, a film accompanied by the most recent album of the same name of Weeknd. It is distributed by Lionsgate and also features Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. The psychological thriller is on the right track to gain $ 5 to 7 million in its launch.
