Final consumer confidence numbers from the University of Michigan will be released at 10 a.m. ET.

Remember that about a week ago, preliminary Michigan confidence data showed a surprise drop accompanied by higher inflation:

  • Consumer sentiment 67.4 vs. 77.2 last month
  • Expectations 66.5 compared to 76.0 last month
  • Current conditions 68.8 compared to 79.0 last month

For inflation readings:

  • 1-year inflation expectations 3.5% versus 3.2% last month
  • Inflation forecast over 5 years at 3.1% compared to 3.0% last month.

Overall, the data was surprising. However, this can be largely influenced by factors such as gas prices.

The current 2-year yield is at 4.948% while the 10-year yield is at 4.486% ahead of the data.
