Ferrari brought his first update package for the Formula 1 2025 season to the Bahrain Grand Prix, with a new floor to inject more performance in his SF-25.
The Italian team has missed a significant pace so far this year, which led to Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton declaring after the Japanese Grand Prix of last weekend that Ferrari needed upgrades to compete with McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes.
Leclerc had suggested that updates were underway for future races; As such, Ferrari discussed his design of sub-body in order to find more support.
This was a large update touching all the elements of the soil; The floor fences (the vertical chains at the front) were reproduced, while the body’s attack edge of the ground also received changes.
The technical notes pre-event of Ferrari indicate that “the before updates targets an improvement in downstream losses”.
These changes have also been increased with a change to the wings of the ground, while the back of the ground was also sent with a repancing zone in the diffuser.

The team notes also indicate that “the expansion of the boat tail and the reshaped tunnel was then reoptmed, as well as the loading of the ground and the loss of whirlwind in the diffuser”.
A small change to the rear pillar was also subjected, with a change in Winglet mounted here which “aims at a minor improvement in the aerodynamic efficiency of the car”.
McLaren and Red Bull also introduced minor changes to their cars in Bahrain; The MCL39 has received a new front brake conduit “aimed at better flow packaging, resulting in an improvement in global aerodynamic performance”.
The front wing of Red Bull also has the possibility of a longer element (a greater distance between the edges of head and leakage) to ensure that it can balance the support force with one of the higher rear wings.
With Haas, Red Bull has also recorded changes to increase the cooling requests from the Bahrain weekend with a different set of cooling to expel more heat inside the driving bay. Haas, on the other hand, opened the central outlet at the back of its engine cover to offer a similar effect.
Many teams are expected to open their cooling louvre panels on the engine cover to ensure that the powertrain is not subject to overheating during the race weekend.
