FC Lorient central defender Bamo Meïté scored his first Ligue 1 goal on Sunday. An opportunistic goal, at the conclusion of a confused action. After a corner pushed back, Enzo Le Fée shifted Romain Faivre to the left of the penalty area. The former Brestois centered in extremis set back, low to the ground, for a Bamo Meïté who intelligently beat Dante. His flat foot deceived Kasper Schmeichel. His first goal in Ligue 1, at 21.
The awakening of the people of Nice made Lorient suffer
The Bretons dominated the first period, facing apathetic Niçois, who did not frame any shots and who were almost never dangerous. But Didier Digard’s players woke up at the break. The Lorientais therefore suffered in the second half. Chephren Thuram’s accelerations often made the difference. The Niçois claimed several penalties. This draw seems logical for FC Lorient which was totally dominated in the second half. If they conceded a goal on an astonishing action, the Hakes managed to keep the point of the draw at the cost of great solidarity behind and in midfield. This point allows them to move up, at least temporarily, to 8th place, just behind their evening opponents. Nice did not lose again on January 7… This statistic may console the Lorient people.
