FBI director Kash Patel said the agency is leaving its DC HQ
The FBI headquarters leave the J. Edgar Hoover building on Pennsylvania avenue in DC, according to the director of the office, Kash Patel.
Patel, which made this announcement in a short clip Friday morning of Fox with Maria, called the building “dangerous for our workforce”.
This decision would transfer 1,500 employees to various places across the country.
“The FBI has 38,000 when we are fully inhabited, which we are not. In the region of the national capital, within the radius of 50 miles around Washington, DC, there were 11,000 FBI employees. The mayor of DC, Muriel Bowser, said in a statement in Wop that the FBI headquarters being in the city “maintains America more safe”.

A safe and beautiful DC requires a committed federal partner who will maintain the capital of our country as a symbol of American force, “she wrote.
Bowser apparently referred to the executive decree of President Donald Trump of March who promised to make the national capital “safe, beautiful and prosperous” by creating a working group made up of members of several federal agencies to combat crime and immigration policies.
Maryland senator Chris Van Hollen said there was some confusion in the displacement of these employees.
“More than 900 of them are vacant posts, where they will move these posts to other offices across the country, including, for example, 40 additional FBI officers in Baltimore. Patel did not say where the new headquarters is.
After a debate over 15 years, the FBI announced in November in November a move to Greenbelt, Maryland, but President Trump said earlier this year that he had planned to stop this resettlement.
