Father Furious After Boomer Poisons Son In Attempt To Prove His Delusional Point

There is a particularly annoying subset of people, both online and in real life, who live under the impression that just because they don’t have an allergy or disease, it must not be real. As is unfortunately often the case, these types of people tend to be what the internet has dubbed baby boomers.

A father has lashed out online at a baby boomer who deliberately and knowingly replaced his son’s meal with one containing wheat after he refused to believe celiac disease was real. We have contacted the father of the story via private message and will update the article as soon as he responds.

Giving a child with a disease food they can’t eat is just cruel.

Celiac disease is accompanied by a whole series of complications

For those who don’t know, celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes people to be intolerant to gluten. Gluten, as you probably know, is one of the most common proteins found in grains. This includes bread and any products containing wheat, rye, or barley. While it may not be as deadly as some food allergies, it is still not something to be taken lightly.

Although most people with celiac disease do not experience any immediate symptoms, such as food poisoning, there will still be long-term negative effects. Often, people with celiac disease will experience sudden weight loss or at least no weight gain. This may seem like an advantage to some, but it is possible to be below a healthy weight with no way to reach it. Remember, there is no cure for this disease, the only thing anyone can do is abstain from gluten for the rest of their lives.

However, by now, this boy was probably suffering from various gastrointestinal issues. Diarrhea is one of the most common symptoms, but gluten consumption can also cause bloating, abdominal pain, and even cramps. In extreme cases, the person may even suffer from mouth ulcers. Remember, all of this is being inflicted on a nine-year-old boy by a non-parent simply because he thinks he knows better.

Celiac disease is unfortunately much worse than just not being able to eat bread, although that is punishment enough. People with celiac disease may also be at a higher risk of depression and anxiety, as well as other mental health issues. Overall, the father has very good reason to be angry, especially if this was done maliciously.

The father’s anger was absolutely justified

Some commenters have used the word “poisoned.” As dramatic as that may sound, it’s perfectly appropriate. Eating gluten may not be fatal for someone with celiac disease, but it’s certainly very uncomfortable. After all, if someone fed you rotten chicken that gave you diarrhea and stomach cramps, you wouldn’t take it as a joke. Allergies and similar conditions are serious and can lead to medical complications.

Worse yet, this is a little boy. Most situations like this have a much greater impact on children, because they are not strong enough to withstand them. While the little boy fortunately comes out of this story well, it is quite possible to imagine a scenario where this would not be the case. This perfectly justifies the father’s anger at this event. Indeed, it is probably in his best interest to want to take real legal action, because many people would take matters into their own hands.

Indeed, once all the facts are laid out, it is surprising that the father hesitated to act. Even if it had been an accident, his anger would have been understandable, but this was even worse. This boomer (the father’s own term) was dismissive, rude, and ultimately cruel. The father has every right to file a complaint. After all, if this boomer feels entitled to ignore other people’s dietary restrictions and allergies, who knows what problems he could cause later.
