The husband separated from a woman and four other men face accusations of murder of special circumstances after the police said they tracked her for weeks, planned his murder and then killed him in front of a restaurant in San San Bernardino last month, authorities announced on Tuesday.

Yesnia Torres, 44, and her husband Sergio Reveles, 53, were in the middle of a controversial divorce that had dragged for two years when the police alleged that Reveles paid a group of men a large sum of money – Approaching hundreds of thousands of dollars – to kill it.

“This cheeky attack occurred in broad daylight, at the sight of customers and employees working in the restaurant,” said San Bernardino police chief Darren Goodman.

After a brief conversation with Torres, Llamas caught his handbag and tried to shoot him. Torres tried to retaliate and seize the weapon, and a struggle enlisted, but Llamas maintained control of the firearm, according to the police and the video sequences.

At one point in the fight, a boss missed the restaurant to help Torres, but quickly retired in the middle of the gunshots. The llamas hunted Torres around the Mercedes while pulling the pistol on it. Finally, she tried to return inside the restaurant and was fatally injured. In total, nine laps were fired during the attack, said Martinez.

Police found her insensitive to the restaurant door, where she was then declared dead.

A witness gave the police the first clues in the case: the license plate number and the descriptions of the vehicle and the suspects that had fled, said Martinez. Investigators also obtained a surveillance video showing the attack, which, according to Martinez, had “greatly helped the investigation”.

The police later found the Ford Escape abandoned in a Walmart car park in San Bernardino. The lamas and the driver of the flight, identified by the police as being Arnoldo Ruelas, 54, went up to another vehicle, then made their way in a company, which they fled after changing their clothes, said Martinez.

“There was always one thing that we wondered: what is the link between the victim and our two suspects?” Said Martinez.

Martinez said the police had found evidence inside the Ford SUV, which led them to additional suspects in the case. The authorities have not detailed the evidence found.

The detectives determined that Arnoldo’s brother Ruelas, Reynaldo ruelas, 37, with Juan Perez, 42, who headed one of the couple’s companies, Sergio’s pallets in San Bernardino, were linked to the murder. Reynaldo Ruelas worked for Perez in the palette sector, said Martinez.

While serving as searches on several companies and residences related to suspects, the police found more than $ 200,000 in cash and “many” firearms, said Martinez.

The Llamas, Arnoldo and Reynaldo ruelas, Juan Perez and the husband far from the victim, Reveles, face accusations of murder with special circumstances for allegations of waiting, murder for a financial gain and a flight during the murder , according to prosecutors and judicial archives.

Men are in detention and could not be reached immediately to comment; Lawyers had not yet been assigned to suspects on Tuesday afternoon.

If they are found guilty, they are each incur maximum perpetuity prison sentences without the possibility of parole.
