The vehicles involved were a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2023 GMC SUV. The driver of the Suzuki motorcycle was traveling north on US Highway 221. The driver of the GMC was traveling east on Davis Trading Post Road and turned left on US Highway 221. The motorcyclist then struck the GMC, according to police. The two drivers of the vehicles were the only occupants and were taken to Spartanburg Regional for treatment, the Highway Patrol said. Charlton Connell, 55, later died from his injuries Sunday afternoon, according to the coroner.
