China will host Fatah and Hamas officials next week to discuss what will happen in Gaza once the war between Israel and Hamas ends. New York Times reported on Monday.

A meeting in Beijing in April attempted to bridge the gap between the two groups, which New York Times These demands are seen by many as a key part of rebuilding Gaza, but the meeting was not fruitful.

“We consider them martyrs, but they did not sacrifice themselves, they were sacrificed,” Nazzal said. “The people who applaud this – especially abroad – have not tried to live in Gaza.”

“Hamas carried out bombings in Israel to thwart this process,” Nazzal said. “If this process had been allowed to run its course, it would have given the Palestinians real independence and a fully sovereign state.”

In March, in response to Hamas’ criticism of Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, Fatah accused Hamas of “being responsible for the return of occupation to the Gaza Strip and causing the Nakba (catastrophe) that our Palestinian people are experiencing…”, Hamas’ spokesman said. The Jerusalem Post reported.

Fatah lashed out at Hamas, asking: “Did Hamas consult the Palestinian leadership or any Palestinian national party when it made its decision to carry out the ‘adventure’ of last October 7, which led to a catastrophe more horrible and cruel than the Nakba of 1948?”

“And has Hamas consulted with the Palestinian leadership that is currently negotiating with Israel and offering concession after concession, which has no other purpose than to provide personal security guarantees to its leaders, and to try to reach an agreement with (Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu to maintain its divisive role in Gaza and on the Palestinian scene?”
