Rapper “Lean Back” announced the death of his mother Marie Del-Carmen Cartagena At 77, a week before Mother’s Day.
The cause of his death was not made public. Marie died less than three months after her husband Ernesto CartagenaFat Joe’s father died at the age of 89.
“It’s a real one, rest in peace to the woman who brought me to this world”, the Hip -Hop artist – whose real name is Joseph Antonio Cartagena—Wrote on Instagram on May 3. “She didn’t have much but she gave us everything. Whoever knows my mother knows that she had a heart of gold.”
Marie, who raised her family in the Bronx, NY, “refused to move projects for many years,” wrote Fat Joe, adding: “Even if I had money”.
The 54 -year -old said that his mother “loved her community, she loved her people”.
“I must thank the Father my God for letting me have it in my life for so long,” he added. “The truth is that she died of a broken heart 60 years with a man and he recently died, my father wanted him with him.”
