The Mexican stopped his opponent in the eighth round, although Rolly did well to last that long as he took some damage in the early rounds.

Moments after the referee stopped the fight, interviewers spoke to Romero in the ring.

But the 29-year-old seemed somewhat stunned as he gave a bizarre interview.

After being asked what went wrong in the fight, Romero didn’t respond for a few seconds, leaving an awkward silence.

Finally, he grabbed the mic and said, “I want to say to everyone, thank you for coming.

“Honestly, Happy Easter everyone. Just like Jesus rose again, I will return.

“I wish everyone a happy Easter and thank you for supporting and following me.”

Fans on social media expressed concern for the Vegas-born fighter, who also struggled to express himself.

The fight ended with Cruz in the eighth round shortly after doctors gave Romero the green light to return to the ring following a brutal seventh round.

Just moments after the bell rang, Pitbull lunged at his opponent and landed a succession of hooks before the referee intervened.

It was a dominant display from Cruz, who now has a 26-2-1 record in his career, including a loss to Gervonta Davis.
