Fan jumps into a water hazard in Valhalla to collect the player’s club and complete a wild day at the PGA Championship

Day two of the PGA Championship had just about everything and even ended with a fan diving into a lake to retrieve a player’s club.

It was an incredibly eventful and gloomy day Friday at Valhalla Golf Club.

The second round of the major event was delayed following the shocking news that a vendor employee had been fatally killed outside the course.

World number one Scottie Scheffler was later involved in another incident and was arrested by police following a huge misunderstanding while trying to enter a property.

Scheffler was arrested at the Louisville police station before being released and shooting a remarkable five-under 66.

On top of that there was, of course, the rest of the action from the 106th PGA Championship with Collin Morikawa producing a stunning display to cut leader Xander Schauffele’s lead to just one.

But after a long and dramatic day ended, more chaos would ensue.

Canadian Adam Hadwin shot a first round of 68 to start this week well before shooting a second round of 72 to start the weekend at two under, ten ahead.

Starting tenth on Friday, Hadwin started well before things went south down the stretch.

After making a bug on the long sixth hole, he hit the water at the par-5 seventh and his club paid the price by being thrown into the drink.

But, as if to sum up the chaos of Friday’s events, one fan then stripped down to his underwear (keeping his socks on for some reason) and dove into danger to reclaim the club.

Hadwin said after the round: “I didn’t finish as well as I would have liked. It really gave a bitter taste to what could have been a pretty decent round.

“A bogeying seven for the second day in a row really gets to you.”

Jessica Hadwin, Adam’s wife, reposted the hilarious video on social media.

She said she was excited for “a relaxing weekend without kids” before being stunned by the actions of her husband and his adoring fan.

Hadwin’s 72 was good enough to get in the weekend’s action which was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. local time in Kentucky, but has since been pushed back due to fog.
