Fan footage shows UFC champion Sean O’Malley sending crowd wild during ‘homecoming’ college football game

Sean O’Malley is still celebrating his UFC title.
“Suga” picked up the biggest victory of his career and the bantamweight belt when he stopped Aljamain Sterling in two rounds at UFC 292 on August 19.

Since then, he’s focused on his podcast and trying to avoid getting beat up by UFC legend Vitor Belfort, who was upset over controversial comments he made about her open relationship.
On Sunday, O’Malley got the homecoming he deserved before his local college football team, the Montana Grizzlies, played Ferris State at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Montana.
A video of his now-famous knockout victory was shown on the big screen and all 25,000 people applauded the UFC star tasked with overseeing the flag-raising ceremony.
After the Grizzlies won 17-10, O’Malley walked onto the field where he was greeted by the entire University of Montana football team.

Viral footage shows the team swarming O’Malley who gave several high fives before joining in as they began singing their fight song.
Later, O’Malley shared some photos and a video of his time with the team singing his walkout song — “Superstar” by Lupe Fiasco — in the locker room.
The Montana-born fighter will soon return to Arizona for his next camp.
O’Malley hopes to defend his belt at UFC 296 on December 16.

During his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, he called for a rematch with Marlon Vera who is the only man to beat him in professional MMA.
O’Malley injured his foot and was knocked out in one round when he fought “Chito” on Stipe Miocic’s undercard against Daniel Cormier III in August 2020.
Vera recently claimed he was in camp and preparing to fight later this year.
It remains to be seen whether O’Malley will headline Dana White’s final pay-per-view of the year, which has been discussed as a potential return card for Conor McGregor.
