Family banking records are prime focus of Biden probe

Rep. James Comer (R-KY), who will be the chairman of the House Oversight Committee of the new Congress, appeared on Sirius XM. Breitbart News Saturday and pointed out that Hunter and James Biden’s bank records will be central to the committee’s investigation into President Joe Biden.

On Thursday, Comer announced at a press conference that the oversight committee would launch an investigation into the Biden family for potential violations, including “wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, violation of the ‘registration of foreign agents, violations of the Foreign Bribery Act’. Practices Act, violations of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, tax evasion, money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

By speaking with Breitbart News Saturday host Matthew Boyle over the weekend, Comer said the investigation’s first goal would be to obtain the bank records of President Biden’s son, Hunter, and James Biden, the president’s brother.

“On day one, the focus is on these bank breaches and bank records,” Comer said. “We’re pretty confident in what we’re going to find in these. We have two banking infractions. We have bank statements in hand, and we believe suspicious activity reports, which are banking breaches when the bank informs the feds that we’re pretty confident our client has committed a crime, Hunter Biden and Jim Biden have at least 150 of those. And I’ve said this before, and I come from a strong banking background, I don’t think there’s anyone in the history of the United States who has had so many suspicious activity reports.

“So there are precedents here in trying to get these suspicious activity reports,” the Kentucky representative added. “And before Joe Biden became president, congressional committees had access to it. Joe Biden changed the rules so Congress couldn’t access suspicious activity reports when he became president. I wonder why? That’s because his family had 150.”

Comer added that the US Treasury Department should provide bank statements and suspicious activity reports, but he plans to subpoena the banks if the Treasury Department does not cooperate.

Boyle asked Comer if Americans could expect hearings with bank and government officials and members of the Biden family, as well as an investigative report at the conclusion of the investigation and to a criminal referral to the Department of Justice.

“Yeah, that’s all of the above,” Comer replied. “As far as the hearings go, we really need to have some of these bank documents in hand and go through them before we get a good hearing, because we are convinced that the president lied about his involvement in all these shady business dealings. We are confident that many of these companies have broken many laws in the United States, so we need to have 100% evidence that we can demonstrate and show the American people the seriousness of the wrongdoing of influence peddling schemes by Biden.

“I have two bank statements…and one of the Suspicious Activity Reports, basically, is a situation where Hunter Biden received a large deposit from China from an unmarked account, which…doesn’t happen. product not in the banking world, you know, there’s always a name and an address,” Comer later noted. “All they know is that he is from China. And he transfers it to all these accounts that he has, which is a…money laundering pattern. And we know that’s part of what the US attorney from Delaware is looking at, money laundering. We need to know the source of his income. If the president’s family is getting millions of dollars from China, we need to know what it was.”

“Hunter Biden wasn’t manufacturing anything; he owned no real estate. He was not allowed to sell anything. He was not licensed to be a lobbyist,” Comer continued. “What the hell were they doing? His influence peddling, which is illegal.

The future chairman of the oversight committee also expressed concern that the investigation could be hampered if Hunter Biden is indicted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware.

“What bothers me, and one of the reasons I wanted to have the press conference so soon, is that I always predicted that the US Attorney DOJ would indict Hunter Biden before January to protect him from a subpoena. to appear,” he explained. “So if he is indicted, we will never bring him before the committee. And what we were hearing was that he was going to be charged with tax evasion and lying about the gun demand.

“I I wanted to throw other things out there that I really can’t get into,” Comer continued. “Human trafficking is pretty bad, and obviously the fact that nobody in the mainstream media has written about it, and nobody in the White House has commented on it, there’s a… huge problem with Hunter Biden. And remember, the laptop has videos in it. So the US Attorney isn’t going to get away with just patting the hand for a misdemeanor and to indict Hunter Biden just to protect him from congressional scrutiny. We want the American people to know that there is a long list of items that Hunter Biden potentially has huge problems with. And that’s not going to go away s appoint a Hunter Biden special advocate or indict Hunter Biden.

“So I feel like the press conference was very effective, and at the very least we’re being transparent with the American people about exactly where we are on day one,” he added. “This is a Joe Biden investigation. And we want those banking breaches that Congress always had access to before Joe Biden changed the rules when he became president.
