Fake Missouri poll understates Trump’s support for 2024 primary

Several Republican strategists told Breitbart News on Sunday that a Missouri poll commissioned by campaign operatives associated with Attorney General Eric Schmitt’s U.S. Senate campaign deliberately understates support for former President Donald Trump in an effort to boost Schmitt in the final days of the race.

Remington Research Group, a political firm associated with top Schmitt consultant Jeff Roe, released a poll showing Trump leading the 2024 presidential primaries by 42%. The survey shows Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at 18%, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) at 6% and other candidates combining 17% with 17% undecided. It was conducted from July 27 to July 28 by polling 818 likely voters in Missouri.

While that sounds impressive for Trump — he absolutely leads the potential 2024 field and even a bogus poll can’t hide that fact — several informed strategists told Breitbart News that the poll is blatantly bogus because it actually understates Trump’s support. In fact, in Missouri, several GOP strategists told Breitbart News, the former president is much closer to 70% or more in Missouri, and DeSantis is more likely than not in the single digits.

“This is a completely bogus poll commissioned by the RINO establishment that seeks to leave President Trump,” a Republican national operative who advises candidates in Missouri and Florida, among other places, told Breitbart News. “There’s no way Missouri, a Trump deep state, will ever vote for someone like Ron DeSantis. President Trump dominates the state and every other state in the country.

“President Trump is way higher in Missouri than this poll indicates, and everyone knows that,” a second GOP strategist told Breitbart News. “Clearly something funky is going on in Missouri with people trying to undermine Trump’s return to the White House. Take that with a very big grain of salt.

A third strategist still wonders why Schmitt’s team — again Roe, whose Axiom Strategies company launched Remington, the company that published this poll — would deliberately try to downplay Trump’s support.

“Something is wrong with these numbers, and you have to wonder why,” the strategist told Breitbart News. “Maybe it’s because the only way Schmitt’s team can tweak a poll to make it look like they’re leading in the Missouri Senate primaries counting election is to bring Trump to his knees. and spur perceived potential rivals in an imminent 2024 bid.”

On that note, the poll also entered the Senate primary on behalf of Roe’s client, Schmitt, and the numbers differed wildly from those of Missouri’s truly independent pollsters. That survey showed Schmitt at 34%, Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) who Trump has already said he wouldn’t approve at 22%, and Greitens at 18%.

“If this poll accurately measured Trump’s support in 2024 and had it where it really isn’t where Schmitt needs it to be to look like he’s leading, that means something like 20 or more points must move towards Trump from the release of this survey results — and that means Greitens would jump much higher and Schmitt would fall,” said the second strategist who spoke to Breitbart News. Also, Hartzler’s number is far too high for this survey to be accurate. When Trump announced he was not going to support her, crowds evaporated from her events and no one went. in reality, the field is probably currently Greitens in the low 30s leading a few points, Schmitt second somewhere in the high 20s, and Hartzler in the lower two digits or high single digits. And in reality, Trump’s support is way off. north of 65% and maybe even north of 70%, which is proof that the pollster changed those numbers for an ulterior motive.

On that note, several other polls, including one from Excalibur Strategies, show Greitens in the lead. This poll, which Breitbart News reported exclusively this weekend, shows the right field to those numbers: Greitens 34, Schmitt 30, Hartzler 21 and other candidates 5%.
