Accused by the presidential majority of having a relationship of subordination vis-à-vis the Russian power, the RN assures “having nothing to hide from the French” and proposes a commission of inquiry into the foreign financing of all parties.
Faced with repeated accusations from the presidential camp, according to which the National Rally (RN) depends on Russian power, the first opposition party in France counter-attacked on September 23 by proposing a commission of inquiry to the National Assembly on foreign funding from all parties. With, in his viewfinder, the political structures close to Emmanuel Macron.
For months, macronie and their relays have sought to manipulate public opinion with odious lies.
In order to put an end to this poison, we propose a real parliamentary commission of inquiry which will finally establish who, in France, is under foreign influence. https://t.co/icBngH4yXi

The two signatories of the press release, Jordan Bardella, MEP and candidate for the presidency of the party, and Jean-Philippe Tanguy, deputy of the Somme, intend in particular “to specify the nature of the links between certain elected representatives of the presidential majority and Qatar”, “determine” possible links between other political leaders of the Macron camp and China, but also investigate “what is akin to a real legislative co-production between the presidential party and the American giants Amazon, Microsoft, Google or even Uber”. The RN specified that it would table a resolution in the National Assembly on September 26 to request the creation of this commission of inquiry.

Questioned by AFP, the RN group in the Assembly indicated that it would give a chance to “a political consensus, and would not make use, at least initially, of its “right of drawing” which confers on each group the possibility of creating one commission of inquiry per year.
Accusations of the presidential camp targeting the RN
At the origin of this project: on September 23, Jordan Bardella, attacked Emmanuel Macron’s energy policy on BFMTV, arguing that “when we try to explain to the French that the energy crisis is linked in war, it is a lie”.
“What tacit pact or what financial agreement could lead to such declarations? An independent investigation must be carried out into Russian interference in European parties”, reacted on Twitter Stéphane Séjourné, secretary general of Renaissance, in response to the MEP RN, whose party had taken out a loan of nearly nine million euros to a Russian creditor.
“Having nothing to conceal from the French, on the contrary, the National Rally is in favor of Mr. Séjourné’s proposal. Being for the most complete transparency in the matter, we propose that this investigation be extended to all the political parties and French leaders and to all the potential interferences”, one can read in the press release published that same day by the RN.
During the debate between two rounds of the presidential election, Emmanuel Macron had already accused Marine Le Pen of talking to her “banker” when she mentioned Russia, the latter retorting that she was “an absolutely and totally free woman”.
