‘Exhausting’ – Luke Littler slams busy schedule, blames lack of sleep on surprise exit from European tour

Luke Littler has blamed lack of sleep for his surprise exit from the European tour on Friday night.

The Nuke faced Wessel Nijman in the first round of the Baltic Sea Darts Open.

Despite being the clear favorite to progress, the 17-year-old sensation fell to a 6-3 defeat and saw his campaign end surprisingly prematurely.

Competing in Kiel, GermanyLittler had less than 24 hours between the competition and his previous Premier League outing on Thursday evening.

Despite the boos, Littler reached the semi-finals in Leeds at the First Direct Arena where he was beaten by Michael van Gerwen at a party that belonged to hometown boy Luke Humphries.

But instead of recovering from the disappointment, the teen seemed far from his best.

Littler had taken to Instagram early Friday morning, showing him starting his journey to Germany at 4:20 a.m., captioning his photo: “The joys of the European tour.”

After his loss to Dutch star Nijman, Littler made his feelings very clear in a second Instagram story.

He wrote: “I can’t expect to play my best darts on four hours of sleep.

As mentioned, Littler will next be in action for night 16 of the Premier League in Sheffield โ€“ the penultimate week of the Championship.

Top of the table, Littler has already qualified for the Premier League qualifiers at the O2 Arena on Thursday May 23.
