A main agent of diversity, equity and inclusion to NASA was dismissed despite the space agency which seems to change its title in order to save it from the executive order of President Trump ending the Federal DEI initiatives, according to a report.
Neela Rajendra, responsible for the chief diversity of diversity, actions and inclusion to the NASA laboratory jet, was dismissed this week of its newly struck role at the head of the “office of the team’s excellence and the success of the employees”, reported the Washington Free Beacon.
“Neela Rajera no longer works on (Jet Propulsion Laboratory). We are incredibly grateful for the lasting impact it has had on our organization. We wish her the best,” said a mass e-mail by Laboratory Director Laurie, obtained by The Beacon,.
This decision comes after the conservative point of sale said that Rajera has escaped the anti-dei ax in 2024, when nearly 900 DEI employees of the Target space agency were dismissed.

NASA closed its diversity department in March, after the executive order of President Trump prohibiting programs in executive branch agencies.
However, the agency gave Rajera a new comfortable title with the same responsibilities, the Beacon reported.
On March 10, NASA Brass sent an email indicating that Rajera would now be the “head of the team excellence and employee success office” – an office that would be responsible for the “affinity groups” of the laboratory, including “the strategic team of black excellence”, said the point of sale.
In a LinkedIn post description, Rajera said that his job as head of the newly formed office was focused on “unlocking our potential to dare powerful things together”.

“I believe that this change is essential for the future success of (Jet Propulsion Lab) and aligns well with Neela’s forces and focuses on the last year,” Leshin director with staff at the time in an email obtained by The Beacon.
Rajera has directed efforts to diversify NASA, including promoting the “Space WorkForce 2030” commitment, which focused on hiring women and minorities.
In a presentation in 2022, Rajera argued that the “extreme deadlines” obtained the objectives of “inclusion”, the tag reported.
NASA has not responded to the request for comments from the position.
