In one of the most important decisions in the history of English football, high -flying champions at 20 times Manchester United confirmed on Tuesday that they were finally going to leave the emblematic stadium of Old Trafford in the near future. The Old Trafford has been the home of United for more than a century since he welcomed his young girl’s game in 1910, against the ferocious rivals of Liverpool, and is one of the most emblematic sports sites in the world.
United, which is currently struggling in 14th place in the Premier League table, has undergone drastic changes since the Ineos group led by Jim Ratcliffe took control of football operations in February of last year.
Mass layoffs at the club and ending free meals for employees at hatching to the legendary manager Alex Ferguson as club ambassador, the Ratcliffe group introduced several cost reduction measures.

The most important of the changes since the takeover of ineos, however, is not an austerity measure, but which will force the club to spend a fortune.
The Ratcliffe group has promised to build a brand new stadium located near the old traffic which will be the largest “largest” football field. The proposed stadium will have a capacity of 100,000 – more than the Wembley stadium of 90,000 and the capacity of 74,310, which are currently the two largest football stadiums in the United Kingdom.
The new place will be built on land surrounding the Old Trafford Stadium, and will cost the club 2 billion pounds sterling ($ 2.6 billion) and should be completed in five years. The historical decision comes after many discussions on the renovation of their existing land, which fell into a state of dilapidation or to build a new one from zero.
“Today marks the start of an incredibly exciting trip to the delivery of what will be the largest football stadium in the world, at the center of a regenerated Old Trafford,” Ratcliffe said in a club statement.
“Our current stadium has been used brilliantly in the past 115 years, but it has been late on the best arenas of world sport.”
Once over, the new stadium should generate an additional 7.3 billion pounds to the British economy each year and also create up to 92,000 jobs. He will also rank as the second largest football stadium in Europe after the Camp Nou in Barcelona, which is also being renovated and should have a capacity of 105,000 after completion.
